The serial number is 559475, so I’d put it a couple years earlier, maybe 1978.

old stuff goes for more .. that some of their big stuff.. same for really early Hummel's.. Rika |

After looking at values and images for a couple hours last night, I didn’t see any of the Hummel fixtures on a wood/plastic base, that would make bookends?
Hummel is written on the side of the bases, so they were not added, after the fact. |

If you can't find anything about it online, it is probably not too common, perhaps valuable.
I would want to keep that glass cabinet and everything in it. One similar to that in the entry to my parent's house. The value in these things does not lay in what they are worth to someone else.
