Hey Rutger West

I was great meeting you at the show. I didn't want to take up too much of your time chatting plus, my friend waiting for me was sure getting bored. He owns a catering business in the next building over and wanted to get way so he tagged along for the ride. These trade shows are no fun.

What a small world? I saw your campy tee shirt and had to pester you about it. When you were talking so passionately about waxing chains, I saw your name and put the two and two together. I had to ask if you owned a 911.

After hunting down my edgebander vendor, I came back to say good bye but was told you had high tail outta there. I was going to offer to take you to dinner and drill you more about chain wax some more. Anyway, it was fun chatting about bikes and your 911. You think you will be at the next one?

Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Likewise, it was great meeting you as well- small world!

I had to walk to the bus top around 1:00pm to make sure I had plenty of time to make my flight- the public transit in Vegas was pretty bad and the F1 construction made it much worse. So glad I left with extra time as the TSA lines at the airport where awful as well.

Love me some waxed chains- my bike is always clean now and it only takes a couple minutes with a Silca wipe after each ride to maintain it.

I wish we could have had more time to chat, I got the idea that we both are cut from the same cloth.

Not sure if I’ll go next year, my business is super small and not much to do with the commercial side of woodworking. I acquired all of the old stock of Bridge City parts when the company changed hands in 2018 and I now repair and sell parts for the older tools. I’m not directly associated with Bridge City, but they do consider me the only factory authorized service center and refer old customers to me.

I hadn’t seen the old owner or the new owner in many years, so it was mostly a fun visit for me.
