Mildewy Canvas
Ok, gentlepeople,
The attached is a bell-tent made of canvas. The mildew (not shown) was free of charge but even so, needs gone. 1) What works to rid the fabric of mildew? 2) What works to rid the fabric of mildew WITHOUT killing my lawn? I’m open to what works but does kill lawns but would rather not strike camp and move it.

Mild bleach solution (10%) .... but it'll work on grass too. Maybe soak the grass with pure water first/after to mitigate.
edited: Bleach ya buy will likely be only 7.5% .... that should be diluted with more water .... 9 to 1... give or take. Last edited by KFC911; 08-18-2023 at 12:18 PM.. |

Oops, read you did not want to take it down. 10% bleach, cover grass under it with a tarp.

Copper sulfate diluted in water. Rinse lawn afterwards with water.

I struggled to fine a method to get rid of and prevent mildew on the cloth wire coverings on my 356s. It had to be minimally invasive (I didn't want to soak it with anything), easy to apply, and had to last. I finally came across Microban. It's nasty stuff, but it works.

Shipping weight 96#, I think: 3 bags: 1) canvas tent 2) center pole and door frame 3) stakes. The pic is deceptive. The door opening is 65” peak to floor.
