Click here, what do you see?

For the last week+, I've not been able to use the AMC web site to get tickets for movies. When I click on the Get Tickets red pill on the home page, I get a black screen rather than movie listings with times. Have tried on 3 different Macs, on one used Chrome, Firefox (2 versions) and Safari. Have also tried an iPhone with and without wireless signal and a PC with Edge. Every time I get the black screen.

AMC Tech CS has been nice but they have no idea why, they are just reporting the problem to the web staff.

One friend saw my black screen, other saw listings.

What do you see?

Click here: AMC Boston Common 19

Then click on the red pill

Do you see this or listings that you can scroll down and choose a movie and time to see?

Thanks for your help!

I get a problem notification. Can you just buy tickets through Fandango?

masraum 08-15-2023 03:53 PM

When I click, I get "get tickets" I get a black screen with 3 animated dots for a second, and then the page populates with movies and movie times.

I'm on an older Intel based iMac w/Firefox. And I have noscript and pi-hole running, both of which can cause issues at times on certain websites.

I see the listings on my 'droid phone...

LOL!

Nice triggered memory!

Now the screen says "Tell Shaun he's still grounded."

I saw Linda Blair, and it stopped being scary years ago. Nice try, Shaun.

Thank you Gentlemen, this is very helpful. Confirms I'm not crazy, at least not for this anyway.

This is what I've been thinking. As an A-List member I pay $25/month and can see 3 movies a week, every week. An IMAX showing is $22 and I see at least one movie a week every week, I think they want to slow me down a little. :D

Shaun @ Tru6 08-15-2023 05:12 PM

I can use the A-list subscription on Fandango but old dog, tricks and all that. AMC.com is like an old well loved sweater.

On my old iPod 2 I got 3 dots and then the screen saying there was a problem.

On my Windows 10 laptop using Google, I got white dots that seemed to go on forever and then I refreshed the screen and got showtimes.

Are there enough new movies for you to go as often as you do? Do you get the popcorn or do you smuggle in one of your gourmet dishes?

If you haven't already, I'd try clearing the cache and cookies for the site. Shutdown your browser, and maybe even reboot your PC

Good info, thanks Rutager. There are enough movies, I see everything from arthouse to Marvel, and some movies several times.

Never get popcorn, it's $10. For the same price I can get veggie chicken nuggets which are made to order and actually excellent. Shockingly good, they are big and you get a ton of them. But I usually eat at a ramen shop or sushi before/after.

Thanks Steve, that was the first thing AMC recommended so have done all kinds of clearing, etc.

Since some here are having problems I would think they are working on it but who knows.

Hey Shaun,

Just now on on my iPad I was able to get the ticket screen, so maybe they fixed it? I got us two tickets to the Barbie movie- I‘m hitting the road now, I’ll be there when I get there, Long drive from MN even longer without a Ducati!

They probably put every IT person on that as they would be losing money hand over fist.

Take care,
Rutager

Same, listing for a movie I have no interest in, but could buy tickets, if so inclined

You should have chosen the blue pill.
