Forklift Racing

I don't know why I find this so cool. I have used a forklift for 40 years and never thought of this!

Turn in your man card immediately and seek help. No normal human male would not think of racing anything with wheels and a motor.

Racing a machine like a forklift is something only people that don't own them would do.

There are lots of racing with lawnmowers, and wheelchair and anything else with a motor so why not. It sure seems more dangerous with two long steel blades on the front of the vehicle however.

What if you put a small cage on the blades and had a guy like is used in sidecar racing?

I don't know how many times I have been sucked into believing these vids are real. Now that you mention it, it's very clear, but I was buying it as real and thinking the raised forks on the lead forklift had to have been balsa wood.

I've made a few dollars at work performing this trick.

"Hey, bet you 5 bucks I can pick up a quarter with the forklift".

forklifts are the slowest, most tippy thing I can imagine operating. And mine is fast by comparison to most.

There is a mod for BeamNG with racing forklifts also.

The author left some tips.

This being a forklift, it obviously will not be the easiest thing to drive. Here are a few tips which should help you control this mad machine!

Be careful with the steering, the rear wheel steering shouldn’t be used at max lock at speed, it will cause oversteer.
The forklift is FWD, liftoff oversteer kinda is a thing
Due to it being FWD, you can counteract oversteer by simply stepping on the throttle.
Due to the lack of a suspension, the forklift can be very bouncy, be prepared when driving over uneven terrain

Forklift racing is unexpectedly cool and intriguing! It's funny how sometimes we can use something for decades without realizing all the fun possibilities it holds. Your 40-year journey with forklifts must have been quite a ride, and stumbling upon the idea of racing them adds a whole new layer of excitement. If you're up for more forklift-related adventures, you might want to dive into ANGUS Lift Trucks. Who knows, they might have some interesting insights or stories to share that could add to your forklift racing fascination.
