Smoke From Canadian Wildfires

Wouldn’t have expected smoke to be so low to the ground. It’s uncomfortable being outside right now.

Yeah, you don't want to be breathing a lot of that stuff in if possible.
We've had our share of it here in So Cal in years past.

It’s fairly bad here in SE PA….definitely irritating to eyes and lungs. Trying to stay indoors….

It was bad here in SW Ohio Monday with brown haze hanging in the air. The air burned your eyes and you could taste it in your mouth. Better yesterday, with blue haze and no burning of they eyes, but back to brown haze again today.

Right now we are under a weird yellowish twilight and it is wreaking havoc on my sinuses.

Sadly, we West Coasters have had lots of experience with wildfire smoke in recent years.

Stay indoors, windows closed. Run AC on recirculate, in house and car. Wear mask when outside. No exercising.

Quick air filter: to help keep indoor air cleaner, tape a furnace filter over a box fan.
Better air filter: tape four furnace filters and a box fan into a cube, with the box fan on top and the bottom being your floor.
Even better: break out the HEPA air cleaner you bought during Covid.

Very hazy in mountains of Va. Smells like smoke. Air quality warnings. Very orangy glow twilight sunrise/sunsets. Too acrid to work out in. Take your smoke back you Canucks!!!!

I am not surprised the smoke is carrying the 500 miles but I would have expected it to dissipate in the atmosphere, not be in such a high concentration at ground level that it looks like the town is on fire.

We had the smoke haze here for a full week...it's been gone for about a week now.

That was from Alberta...almost 2000 miles away from here.

Hopefully yours won't last as long.

My house is so drafty the best I can do is run my ceiling fans full speed.

These are pics from my office in Greenpoint Brooklyn.

The first is of buildings only 2-3 blocks away.

The second looks out to the Manhattan skyline which is normally visible any day.

My office smells like someone is BBQing in it.

They should have made a law that any wind generators be able to reverse the electric flow and aim them all back at Canada.

We had it bad here too a few weeks ago in Alberta, right now it’s the East coast and Ontario.

Bad year here for wildfires.
