I love the Tire Rack!
Needed new rear tires for the Carrera and couldn't find any in stock around here.
Yesterday, I ordered a pair of Kumho's from Tire Rack and they were delivered today. Plus, they were less than the cheaper brands that were offered from Belle tire. ![]() Tomorrow I'll get them mounted and balanced. ![]()

Discount Tire owns Tire Rack now. So if you go to Discount Tire, they are happy to mount them. That terrifies me personally.
I take my tires to a local Porsche only shop that disposed of the old tires, and does a Road Force balance and they are just dead nuts perfect balance and no scratches on my wheels. At any speed there is no slight shake, just perfect.

The closest Discount Tire to me is over an hours drive.
I usually deal with a local small tire shop here...they are very careful of scratches....but their tire prices are terrible. Unless you want Generals or Douglas. ![]()

I thought one day shipping to Grand Rapids from South Bend, Indianland is very quick.

I know several people who have used Tire Rack and their recommended installer and we’re happy with the results.

^^^ I think this is the 3rd or 4th time I've bought tires from them. No problems at all with anything.
I've never used the 'recommended installer'.

I managed to stuff both old tires on the wheels and the new tires into my Civic SI....it's full.
Surprising how much room a 16" wheel and tire X 2 takes up.

Got two bad tires from Tire Rack. They sent new replacements and reimbursed me for the mounting and balancing. My time to take the wheels off and drive them to the tire mounting guy was into the wind.

What's wrong with discount tire mounting tires? Do they have special price? |

The discount tire near me is too busy for my tastes. I do buy heat cycled track tires from Tire Rack and usually get them mounted by Discount but they usually put too much goop on them when mounting which means they rotate on the wheel if I don't give them a couple weeks to sit.
I think Tire Rack has created a market where tire prices are pretty even across the board so we don't have to walk in with Tire Rack prices printed out and haggle with other shops. I put Cooper all terrain tires on my Tundra at Discount early this year but never really liked them. They ran rough and squealed through the turns. The Coopers had a ton of balance weight on them and I never bothered getting them rebalanced so I don't know if Discount screwed up the balance or the tires were just bad. I decided I'm a street driver who rarely goes off road so I switched to Michelin Latitude Touring HP tires from Tires By Design. The Michelins took very little balance weight and work much better.

Got them mounted on the wheels yesterday and on the car just now.
Surprised to see that they are not directional? First pair of Kumho's like that for me.
