Anyone here an expert on Heuer watches?

I have some, but I don't understand the differences between what makes one more "valuable" than others?

Is there a dedicated website somewhere?

Oh, also I mean vintage Heuer - not TAG/Heuer (TAG bought / merged with Heuer in 1985).

thx,

Wayne

Pilot's watch design...no idea of value. Heuer was more well known for it's line of Rally clocks back in the day. I bought a "Master Time" clock out of a R&T ad for $69.95 back in the 1960's. Tossed it when it quit working.

Yours is a very nice watch. Value resides in gold or not, condition, and originality. Some models are obviously worth more than others, esp with Rolex and Omega. With older Heuers if it is gold (not filled or plated)(will say on the inside of the back case), is in good condition, and runs it is $$$. (where an early Rolex sub with a nice dial would be $$$$). Yours is a chronometer with a really nice dial and the case doesn't have much wear. Although almost no one actually uses the chronometer functions or even knows how they work, they are nice to have.

If it runs, you should be proud of it, wear and enjoy it. I'll say it again, it is a very nice watch.

Thanks, it's my favorite of the small bunch that I have. I don't think it's gold though, as I think I pad about $600 for it.

Still, tough to figure out how value works with these things. I'll check out the timezone watch site...

thx,

Wayne

I bought a Tag Heuer 200 dive watch, quartz, back in 1993 for $330, brand new at the Post Exchange. Was probably $500 or $600 retail, this was when the Post Exchange was a good deal, it no longer is...

Gave it to my son a couple of years ago. Last week I sent it to Tag for service, needed battery, a seal or two, and a cleaning.

Two things I found out:
1. Tag considers watches from the mid 90's or older to be vintage and have a separate price list for service

2. In looking for this watch actual model and/or serial number location, I found a couple online that were offered at a shocking $1,500.

You have to look at sold/completed transactions on ebay for best results. This appears to be sub $500 all day long. I do like the no BS look though, had not seen one before.

^^^

I see that too. Hard to believe paying $1,500 for this one. I wore it for a while with a NATO strap.

I'm interested to see it upon return from the cleaning. Should be nice.

I don't want to derail this thread, but NATO straps have really been growing on me and I think would look great on this watch.

Post the photo on the onthedash.com forum.
That is the best Heuer website.

As for value , it’s not much different than cars.

Originality, rarity and the ebb and flow of the market.

I’m not an expert, but I’ve dabbled a bit with vintage Heuer watches. The value can depend on things like the model, condition, and whether it's a limited edition or has historical significance. I’ve found some great resources on dedicated watch forums where collectors share insights on rarer pieces. I once stumbled on a Heuer that wasn’t as well-known but had a fascinating backstory that made it more valuable than I thought. For replicas, I did some research and found premiumrolex.io—I grabbed a replica once, and the quality was honestly impressive. It helped me learn more about the real thing without the high price tag.

Market wide search is easy on www.watchrecon.com. Type “Heuer” (or any brand) in the search box and every one for sale will come up.

$1k to service a Tag

My last service (note: in 2021) for my Rolex 16710 was hundreds less, for most of my "lesser" watches (basically anything ETA movement) I do it myself, but then again I like to live dangerously
