Missing pelicans?
 

The other thread got me thinking.. Anybody heard from Rob - RKT? He was building me a diorama and was fighting sickness on and off and he went radio silent last Feb..

Also, anyone heard from Matt? - onewhippedpuppy?

we have a thread on here somewhere for the missing, it got to be depressing.

Though I post on some of them ... I agree.

For anyone who's been around for over two decades... MOST Pelicans have gone missing ... 'tis what it 'tis ....

It's like anything else. At some point people say "why am I here?". People grow and change.

JoeBob (Mike) hasn't been around for a while. Tabs also. LubeMaster left for sometime but recently made an appearance. Z Man came back as a Mod in PARF recently but I don't think he's active right now. Vash drops in every once in a while.

Me? - I'm officially retired however I'm busier now than ever before but I still make time for this place.

Joe Bob was online early this morning EST.

I met up with him last November in Eureka Springs, AR at a PCA event when he was selling some dioramas. He had a lot of really cool ones that sold. He as come as a vendor several years in a row. If he is there this November, I will be sure to tell him his Pelican friends miss him.

Anyway his health was not great, and he was looking tired. I will not get into what the issue is for his privacy.

Just find and open an old thread.

Years ago ... back when Wayne's servers "reset" at 6:30 EST .... Matt, James, Rick, and Tabby (up late in LV) were regulars each morning .... along with a few others :)....

I had been on one of my longer hiati (hiatuses???) a few years ago when Matt triggered my return with a PM (email sent)....

I bet he's on the lake this weekend :)

Curious if anyone has recent updates. And yes I saw the Tabs awol thread.

Sometimes folks mentally check out for whatever reason . Or get banned . Or unfortunately pass away . If someone passes away how would the forum know ? Unless a family member chimes in or a forum member happens to see the obit all we know is radio silence .

I told Ms. Rocket to post I had gone to the big race track in the sky upon my passing. She probably won’t remember.

When the inevitable happens, my eldest daughter has a list and instructions for my online presence.

Which also means my last post here will be all lower case. :rolleyes:

I posted about my buddy Richard Davis, his Pelican name was RKDinOKC

We ate lunch together one day per week for many years. He was a very funny, very smart man (about most things) but stupid as hell about his own health. He had a stroke in the middle of the Covid lock-down, and I could not even go visit him in the hospital.

He never got to come home from the hospital after they gave him Covid.

He loved Golden Retrievers and always owned one. His family gave me a box of his "Porsche stuff" an in it were several nice 928 themed watches. I sold all of them on Rennlist as they have an active 928 forum. I took all that cash, and donated it to a Golden Retriever rescue charity.

I miss Richard every Tuesday as that was the day we normally went to lunch.

We need a sticky thread of those who have passed as a tribute..

RandyWebb, Angela, Tabdulla, EarlySMan, I'm forgetting some many others.

EarlySMan (Warren) passed away long ago.

All of those have passed on. That's what he is saying. There are many more but all I can think of off hand is Dueller.

Are you confirming that Tabs passed on? When you say "all" ... surely not Glenn (Island) too. A reliable Pelican indicated that Sammy just moved on and is doing fine a while back.

I interacted off line with Angela on some biz ideas she had. She only lived 3.5 hours away. Always wanted to meet her. Missed that one.

I also tried to get a wealthy buddy to buy her speedster. Missed that as well.

Yeah, I think tabs has been active on FB.

That was me. I told him about the thread for him and urged him to stop by. He said something about being locked out. Forum Admin confirmed he’s all clear. I let him know that so can only assume his absence is by choice. Ball is in his court.

Dr Dogface passed away a couple years ago. He bought a 49 Chevy 5 window pickup from me and completely restored it.

I meant to post this a while back but forgot to. There is a user who often comments on our local news stories (komonews.com) that goes by Island911, it is definitely a familiar writing style and he’s local to me so probably him.
