Happy knowing I am 1 week away from two back to back vacations. Annual ski trip with college buddies in Michigan then trip to Cancun with kids/grandkids.

I woke up this morning to what looks like a nice day for cycling after the mist burns off.

Good for you for building a spectacular collection!

Thanks Herr Oberst. I realize they are only a material possession...but I do enjoy what they do for my mentality.

All went well today and she is on my front driveway now. Home sweet home....;)

Just back from outpatient rehab with Kendra, a great PT. She has me able to walk a football field or more, using just a cane...then learning to step over curb high objects with no hands..all gaining balance and strength...yeah, very happy...

I upgraded my video/audio system with some new Sony items.
Really going to enjoy watching tv now that there aren't any lines in the picture that shouldn't be there. My 18 year old set put in a good deal of work and I really enjoyed it, but it's time for a change.

Mowed the lawn. Stitches from a rough pulled tooth out. Itchy boots on youtube. What me worry?

I have to say, my life is really pretty great.

First. Nobody seems to believe me on this but kombucha seems to legitimately make me happier. I don't question this. But I am.

Second. I sort of stopped working 2.5 years ago. I work about 5% of the time now. Make a lot less. But damn. My stress and blood pressure are SO much better. WOW! Work sucks. Trust me on this.

Third. I sort of go about my days and do whatever I want. Fantastic.

Fourth. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I am attempting to buy a home in Italy currently. A bit of a dream. But not completely unobtainable. Coupled with this, I am learning Italian slowly. Altogether, a great hobby.

Fifth (but not in fifth place!) I am still married after 34 years. She isn't crazy and she is hot. No pics. Sorry. She laughs at some of my jokes and tolerates my BS. That is a win.

Sixth, my children like me and I like them. They are unique, quirky, brilliant, and altogether wonderful humans. YAY!

Seventh. My dog would give his life for me. He is amazing and a pain in the a55 at the same time. And I adore him.

Eighth. I seem to have found an amazing group of people to hang out with. My friend group is really really brilliant, interesting, kind, and wonderful. How could I be so lucky???

Ninth. I am pretty healthy at 59.5. Wow.

Tenth, I have had a lifetime of financial planning, scheming, working, saving, and investing. And? I don't worry about money. Ever.

So yeah. I have some cool stuff going on. I hope y'all do too.

Hanging out with good friends. I've just come back from a birthday party of a brother of a very close friend. Funny thing is a woman and I became dog walking buddies then her guy and I became very good friends. He's a kiwi born Samoan and he and his family are lots of fun, very genuine and have strong family connections. And they don't think it's odd that a couple of palangis (white people) have adopted themselves into the family LOL

Not exactly a happiness, but finding contentment in isolation.

Apparently, I am the youngest grandson's favorite person in the world, so I have that going for me

berettafan 11-15-2025 04:39 PM

Daughter asked to go shooting today. took her 22 rifle which she is a crack shot with and some pistols to the indoor range. She hadn't shot pistol before and was at first intimidated. But she found some success and refused to quit until she had put a few in the center zone. The happiness came from just spending time with her and also seeing her demand better performance (that it was in shooting really doesn't matter) from herself before she moved on to the next thing.
