Remote Photo Gallery - gift idea
I had an idea this morning…
I want to get my dad a tablet to mount on his wall that rotates photos… I know - these have been around for 15 years… here’s the catch, I want it wifi connected and be able to edit the photo gallery remotely so we can add to the photos. We would get one for my wife’s parents too. I know this is doable with a raspberry pi. There has to be a tablet and app for this. Anyone know of one?

Got my parents an Aura frame years ago. It is fine. I can remotely send photos, my brothers do the same. My mom tinkers with it too from time to time.
Easy user interface, good app for iOS, I suspect they do Android too.

I have the Amazon Show 10...they also make a Show 15" now.
All my pics are on my laptop. I can sort which ones I want to be shown....just say "Alexa show my photos" The ones that were picked will be shown for about 10 seconds each and will continue and rotate for a couple hours...unless asked to stop. The resolution of the pics is excellent. The Show 10 is around $250

Not sure if it is one brand specific but we use the Frameo app to add photos of events to my Mom's remote frame.

The frames are on Wifi, so adding photos requires no cable, USB, etc... Internet is required The Aura Carver is $150 on Amazon. It's a 10" screen. https://auraframes.com/digital-frames/color/carver-gravel We can all add pictures to her frame via a website. She can also easily add photos that get shared via text message to the frame. The frame does a slide show and has seems to have a fair amount of storage. I think the images are also "in the cloud" that probably then swap back and forth between the frame and the cloud, so the storage is actually greater than what's really on the frame itself. We shipped the frame direct to my mom and she got it setup when it arrived. She's decent at tech stuff, but not an IT guru.
