Time of day is critical.
Find the nearest hospital and go to the ER or sit in the lobby of the ER. Get warm. Or, nearest police station, tell them you were kidnapped, robbed and dropped off without ID, etc. and need help, food and shelter.

I don't think too many of us here could sell our bodies on the street. Or could we? lol

I'd go to the nearest library, find the closest Amazon warehouse, walk or hitchhike my way there and get to work. They're everywhere, they're always hiring, overtime is always available and you can set it up so you get paid at the end of each shift. Buy some piece of crap beater with your second week's pay and you can live in the parking lot at most sites until you find a place to live. You'll average $800/week after taxes with OT if you work nights/weekends, so over $40k/year clear.

Since you’re saying no one can look up my history then I guess my law license is worthless. If that’s the case, you seem to be describing a sort of apocalypse? Are there still stores? Businesses? Medical? Why would all that still be ongoing but my history is gone?
In any case, I would have to revert to hopefully non violent thievery to get fishing gear, cold weather gear, basically the survival gear I have now would have to be replaced. Once I had that, I would be off to the races. I could survive in the woods indefinitely until I sustained serious injury or illness. Unfortunately something as simple as a tooth infection in this scenario could ruin everything Sounds sick but one of my fantasies is to wake up to a world that resembles the walking dead. We are probably not far off from that

I told my son I’d want him stranded with me on a desert island or whatever because he knows how to do everything.
He looked at me with an expression that said, ‘Good luck with that, old man.’ Out of the will he went, of course. |

This thread has been in the back of my mind all day.
Aaaaaannnd, now I have fantasies about giving it a go. What would happen if I tried this for a year at age 64? Throw a dart at a map to determine my destination and then try and convince a friend who currently rents into watching my house to make sure the lights stay on and the taxes are paid - and thus create a failsafe in case things just go totally pear shaped. If you weren't leaving anyone in the lurch, it could be an excellent antidote to a devastating romantic breakup, or a midlife crisis. A COMPLETE REDO, but with backup.

A guy out here in my neck of the woods ended up stabbed to death at a homeless camp. The news was all over it: ‘Unidentified homeless man stabbed to death at a homeless camp.’
Come to find out, he was a rich guy and ran a business in Denver or wherever who liked to spend his summers as a homeless guy. Local restaurant server recognized him as a customer using a credit card. |

Lets say I was dropped off on an island, with a few people, just a boat captain his first mate, a proffeser rich guy and his wife, and two hot babes. and a Packard Bell radio.
I think that would be a good start.... .

Reminds me a bit of Dan Akroyd's character in trading places.
Once the rug is completely pulled out from underneath, it takes a bit of time to get to even basic positions. I'd wager most of us here have a strong work ethic. We also probably have skills. The challenge would be convincing a stranger of such... showing up with nothing and stating we are a master of "insert your skills here." Would take a bit of time to even get to the bottom rung of the ladder. Also reminds me of a youtube character- Stobe the hobo, who travelled the country by hopping on freight trains and had no problem with "KFC attacks"- basically raiding KFC dumpsters for fresh warm leftovers and such. Interesting thread indeed!

Like I said originally, seek guidance and see what happens. I know how to work hard and I probably have an IQ above two digits. Living homeless wouldn't be my goal. Living comfortably as a man with enough means to exist peacefully and enjoy a society that has rules and benefits would be my goal. I think I could do it, but it would be a totally different life than what I have now.
