‘86 Audi 5000 I bought from a German customer for $500. He maintained it religiously but the oil cooler went bad and made a milkshake in the tranny. He was planning to take it back to Germany with him but sold it to me instead. Did the O/H and drove it a buncha more miles. Had many Audis but this was the ugliest. Not mine but one that looked like it:

This thread, and the less than perfect women thread, have something in common. Y'all keep posting cars and women that are really good looking.

No one posts an Aztec, or Susan Boyle's photo. Just sayin'. HaHa :D

I had a '76 Monte Carlo in high school in 83-85. I hated it but looking back, it's kind of cool :)

Not mine, but pretty close:

Ms Rocket but one of those from a pawn shop. Then, one day, the FBI (?) come to the hospital where she worked, asking her about the car. Turns out somebody forged a title, sold it to the pawn shop, where they sold it to her.

She got her money back from the pawn shop, contacted the correct owner, and bought it from them.

:D If our '82 Fairmont wasn't ugly enough to post in this thread, I'll eat my hat.

Just look at that thang. When I hit the brakes, people who were following too closely went temporarily blind.

I'd like to say that when we bought it, my car guy preferences had to go by the wayside. We each had a 2 door Euro sedan ('74 Opel Manta and '75 Audi Fox) up until that point and it was easy enough to get one kid in the back seat, but when kid #2 came along it was time to go to 4 doors... and this lovely brick (or Squaremont as my friend Dennis dubbed it) was in our price range.

I put some substantial radials and gas shocks on it and it was a decent handler, but I never tried autocrossing it. I promise I didn't.

I think 924s are nice looking especially if you get them down to EU ride height and lose the stupid circle reflectors.
