I could not believe this. Hockey game in England. It was not a GD freak accident, I saw the video of this,disturbing.

Hockey has long been a fight where a game broke out. They could stop the fights with one simple rule change and make for $100,000 fines against the player and $500,000 for the team for fights and expulsion from the league for kicks to the throat.
But the fans love to see the fights, and it is all just entertainment of men playing a kids game.

That is disturbing and tragic but it'll be hard to prove intent. It is a strange move for sure. If he was thrown off balance it could explain the move but w/out clear video it's not possible to see.

I don't want to watch any videos of this tragedy . Internet reports say police are investigating what happened . Let the facts be looked at and determine if any criminal act has occurred . RIP to the young man and I wish his family and loved ones the best under awful circumstances .

He was knocked off balance but it did look like he lifted his leg to hit/get in the way of the victim.
I would need to see it in full speed to determine more. Sad all around

This is very disturbing that this happened the way it did. All the talk about neck guards by the sports people, they never mentioned he was cut by a drop kick.

I've seen the video, the slo-mo, the isolated frames, etc. It's pretty gruesome, you see him skating away while losing a lot of blood down the jersey and onto the ice. Players and refs go to help but there's no stopping the blood loss. The perp skates away, no assistance to the injured, not smug or anything. I don't think he knew how badly he had injured him.
I've watched a lot of hockey and there are the Goons and dirty hits and this seemed intentional. Not 'I'm going to kill some guy" intentional but intentional none the less. I think involuntary manslaughter might be the charge if there is one.
