Tennis battle of the sexes, Kyrgios-Sabalenka

I was kinda looking forward to this because we hear a lot of BS on respective tennis levels.. Make it fun, but let's see what's what.. Kyrgios is not exactly Sinner but he's still an amazing shotmaker. Better than the previous times this was tried.

But no.. Rules are one serve only... and the court will be smaller on the woman side, making it harder for the man.. What is the point then ? Entertainment, sure, but then why not play one "normal set" so we can see what the level difference truly is for once, and THEN play another under those stupid rules to make it "fun".. I mean what else ? play with shoelaces tied, a badminton racket ?

I like both man and woman's tennis but it always irked me ladies only play best of 3 for the same money as the men who often play several 5 setters in a slam...seems slightly unfair.. Now this travesty (kinda as expected)... Oh well..

The chick was on Fallon last night. Very tall. Maybe 6'2. Hard to say because she had on 5" heels.

That happened between Billie Jean King (29) and Bobbie Riggs (55) in 1973. It was pretty light-hearted. Billie Jean won in straight sets 6-4, 6-3, 6-3.

Yeah and that (and other since) were BS matches, who's ever heard of Bobbie Riggs , the dude looked geriatric, also tennis was a different game back then, wood rackets, less physical.

In today's game, I sincerely doubt the #1 woman could beat any man in the top 200, possibly lower. I recall a tournament in France where Andreeva (top 10, maybe higher) was in the final and the opponent defaulted prior, so to not send people home disappointed, the organizers "grabbed" some decent local guy from a local club and he still beat her !! my memory is fuzzy there..

I get the entertainment factor here, but I am lamenting they do not do one "real" damn set so we can settle this argument, THEN do the fun "play with a hand tied in your back" deal.

She is 6' tall. Huge serve and great player all around. She went thru a period about 3 years ago when she had the yips and literally could not serve a ball in. She made some changes and has been Number 1 in the world or number 2 for the last few years, having won a handful of grand slams.

Kyrgios is a total tool. Regardless of the 'rules', I hope she destroys him.

The women's game has changed bigly over the last 5 to 10 years. These women (sometimes girls Mirra Andreeva) train hard year round and are extremely fit (other than Taylor Townsend). I'd say Serena Williams would not be the dominate force in today's WTA tour that she was in her era.

The only sport I know of that pit men and women head to head is drag racing. One or two women as as good as the very best men. It just takes reaction time, and the guts to run 1/8 mile and get to 300+ MPH.

When it comes to any game that involve muscles and strength, there is just no way a woman can compete. It is like the difference from the best high school football player against the bench warmers on a NFL team.

Maybe some chess players are as good as the best men, but that is a mental game, not physical.
