No More WD-15

The BaT auction for my truck apparently went live while I was asleep last night.
I am going to take a long, cold bath on this truck. I set a low reserve to make sure it sells. If it doesn't sell at the reserve I set I'm just going to start using it as a truck again and not worry about its value.

I think that is a really cool truck but I have no clue what it will sell for. Good luck on the auction.

Damn, the pictures you sent off to BaT are gorgeous. (But I really wish you'da clocked the hubcaps.)

GLWTA. That truck is iconic, not only from a Pelican perspective, but as an historical reference to the glory days of the industrial age in America.

(And if you find a great picture of the bed floor, BaT always lets you add new photos)

Wow, really spectacular old truck! Good luck on the auction!

I've already done that. Thanks.

Awesome truck. I wish I could justify having one.

My uncle has an early 40's Dodge half ton that he bought in the early 60's and has had it ever since. I have some fond memories of riding around in that truck.

I have a huge soft spot for old trucks. And this one is particularly awesome. Good luck. She’s a beaut.

Beautiful Dodge truck. The Grandfather to my 68. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...791072af3f.jpg

Incredible how much that thing resembles a 1936 Plymouth with the hood up.

$3600, does it have a heater? That thing is too pretty to use as a truck

porsche tech 11-26-2023 09:51 AM

Does this mean you have to change your name?

GH85Carrera 11-26-2023 03:05 PM

That is a really neat old truck. I hope you find a good home for it.

Looks like it's doing good right out of the gate! Good luck with the sale

berettafan 11-27-2023 03:15 AM

whoa that is beautiful!

good karma for WD doing such a nice job with that truck.

herr_oberst 12-02-2023 02:35 PM

It seems like you got a good price for your Dodge; I hope you were satisfied with the auction?

There sure was a lot of interest and the bidding went pretty crazy that last half hour!

Baz 12-02-2023 03:44 PM

Congrats on your auction, Patrick. Looks like she'll be going to a good home!

Thanks for sharing this experience with us all here, too.

Hope you are recovering well with your back surgery.

Wow! Who wouldn't want to drive such a beautiful automobile. Well done, sir!

zakthor 12-02-2023 06:52 PM

I wish it hadnt sold and it went back to being a truck.

450knotOffice 12-03-2023 05:25 AM

Yes, I’m happy with the price I got. There isn’t much of a market for accurately restored old trucks. I probably could have gotten another $10,000 if I’d spay painted a junkyard SBC and wedged in it.
Spoke to the buyer. He seems like a pretty good guy.
