Having owned a 1972 GTO, I must agree. With a 2005 you won't experience factory installed rust issues, massive rear window leaks, doors that sag as low as granny's breasts, or dash cracks that appear in the first two years.

Don't get me wrong. I loved my GTO. But whenever I hear people say, "they don't make them like they
Used to," I think, "thank God!'

Not a good photo, bad angle, more handsome in real life. And those were/are a really good car. A cop friend raved about them and said the engine is a blah blah blah worth x amount, which means you effectively get the rest of the car for free. He was a highway pursuit driver in a car with the same engine and spoke very highly of them.

I had a buddy that had a GTO, I'm not sure what year it was. I'm pretty sure his was a manual. If you want a fun, V8 4 seater, they are probably a lot of fun and not a camaro or mustang (which are dime a dozen).
Yep. There was a red one on a used car lot a few years ago that had a 6 speed manual. My Brother-in-law and I decided to go "test" drive it. That was a fun "test" drive!!!

LS-2

LS -6 on my mind.

Like how this car elicits so many opinions.

For me --I just like all kinds of cars and probably don't retain alot of nostalgia for the old stuff -- If I like em I like em.

Enjoyed driving the thing at any rate

My buddy had one, ls2 variant, I think the confusion comes from LS2 being 6.0L not LS6 (from c5z and 1st gen ctsv).

Fun car to drive, suprising space in the back but hard to craw back there. Hilariously traction limited in the rear. It comes with 245 in the back and not a whole lot bigger fits easy. Great at making "11S"

Well --- I own it
fun in the old way --midsize and 400 stick shifted HP

I'm older --don't care much what anybody thinks -- a fun ride that reminds me of a simpler time.

Congrats on the new toy.

I've seen those in person; I think they look much better in person than they do in the photos. Still a bit wonky, but with enough HP who cares...

Awesome! It's very cool that it's a manual trans. If I was local, I'd want a ride. Enjoy it! I'm sure it's a ton of fun!

And we need more pics!

Looks super fun. Are you going to chip it or modify it at all?
