I knew a guy who was looking for a cheap new car for his Daughter. This was mid 1980's so they decided to look at the Yugo. Went to the lot and they went to 4 different cars before they found one that would start. Needless to say they decided to look at other brands.

It looks like the hood is held on with clevis pins - race car engineering baby! (from 1967, but still, race car inspired!)
