Boeing executives are so bad they are now
responsible for causing turbulence.

Yup, the right answer is ask first before putting your ‘better way’ into action.

We would sometimes spend over $1,000,000 developing a new technology and then put it in the hands of truck drivers to go run in the field… often with disastrous results. I changed that up so that our technical specialists in the field had at least an associate’s degree so that when things went sideways, they could troubleshoot and work with engineers to solve the problem as opposed to bad mouthing the whole thing and getting us run off.

New Boeing CEO now has to deal with 30,000 Seattle area machinists on strike and the decision to furlough thousands of executives and managers just to preserve cash. This may get even uglier for a one and mighty US manufacturer.

Even worse, the new CEO apparently closed on or moved into a $4m home the day the Machinists voted to strike.

Before I retired, the security guards were all direct employees. They were actually deputized in their respective counties. The fire and EMS were also direct, and were often called upon outside of their respective plants to render assistance in emergencies, since they were fully accredited as well.

Well, about the time I retired, Boeing fired all of them and outsourced the whole works. They went from professionals trained to the same levels as their peers employed by the counties to a bunch of overweight mall ninjas. One of those idiots just pulled his gun on striking machinists.

Their race to the bottom continues.

Although the new CEO It’s going to have an office near the Boeing campus, to get close to the action, the optics of closing on a $4m home, definitely didn’t look good.

My little sister is an EE working on embedded systems in avionics. She is 27 and Boeing has fully paid for her master's at UW which is almost complete. She is nervous and says morale is low. Her fiancé also an EE seems to be a little more worried because he has much less time on the job.

Another friend of mine who is retired engineer and had been working as a contractor was laid off on Monday. He is just fine and had a long successful career there prior to contracting.

The Air Canada flight into Halifax was a Dash 8.
