Its one of the reasons I like players like Brock Purdy, who started 4 years at Iowa State and stayed there, showing his character.
The other thing that is hurting college sports is the ability of a High School senior to leave school and start college in what would have been the spring semester of their senior year of HS.

Yesterday, I saw a college volleyball player enter transfer portal after only 3 years at Nebraska. Has already graduated and looking for a new school for grad school. Before anyone says that's great since there is no life for them after college sports wise; there are very healthy leagues around the world and if you are good/great you can make very good money.

I attended University of Idaho when the drinking age was 19. Students could bring any beverage they wanted to games in the Kibbie Dome as long as it was not in a glass or metal container. Empty milk jugs worked well. Imagine.....

I was at WSU 81-85, spent a ton of time in Moscow drinking (due to the drinking age in WA being 21 at the time) and playing golf at the U of I course. WSU's golf course was a pile of *&^%. I think a round of golf cost us like $3.75 or something crazy.

In my senior year of high school,1972, I was 18...the legal drinking age at that time.
A group of us would always eat and drink at the local pub for lunch. After lunch it was back to school for a nap. (three beers in less than an hour will do that.)
