Also, Roxy is racing this weekend in place of Rexy.

Heading to RA tomorrow. Fingers crossed the weather holds out. I crashed t12 there in the rain many years ago

I do not like full course Yellows.
I guess they want to keep things bunched up like a nascar race.
Still a nice day at the track.

Great race and a Porsche 1-2!

I watched it at the end. Heavy traffic and a close finish. Fun to watch.

Little ricky did everything he could to spin out
the #7 car in the last laps, even rear-ended him.

I was soo hoping ricky would stuff it into the tires on the last lap.
Again.
Good thing daddy has all that sponsorship money.

^^^ :D Thought for sure that dive into T5 was going to take out the Porsche

Ferrari with Robert Kubica/Robert Shwartzman/Yifie Ye won Hypercar at the Lone Star Le Mans. Nice to see Kubica on the podium! After FP1, all 4 Porsche 963s were just simply off the pace :(

First pole in WEC for Cadillac at Fuji! Going to be tough to beat the Toyotas on hone soil though. Porsche? seem to be lackluster again ...

Porsche wins Fuji 6 Hour  After another crap qualifying performance, Porsche did what Porsche does - consistency and perseverance during the race. They are almost assured to win the WEC title with only 1 race remaining.

I hate this kind of crap. 4 days after the fact, Porsche was stripped of its points and 3rd place finish at Indy for a minor wiring harness variance. There was ZERO performance gain. This type of infraction would be more fairly dealt with via $$ fine or grid penalty. Memo to John Doonan: This kind of stuff really pisses off fans.

Congrats to BMW for their 1-2 finish!

URY914 09-26-2024 02:59 PM

Curt, I agree

astrochex 09-27-2024 01:48 AM

They said the harness was modified (maybe they could extract more data, who knows). Note the 40 Acura received similar penalties for brake duct component modifications.

Where do you draw the line? If you give these guys an inch, they will take a yard. I think loss of championship points is the most effective penalty. Have to credit IMSA too for attention to detail.

CurtEgerer 09-27-2024 03:45 AM

From a fan point of view (and IMSA claims to be the most fan-centric series in the world), they owe the fans an explanation of how the infraction potentially increased the performance of the car, justifying such a drastic penalty. In the case of a modified wiring harness, a performance increase would be nearly impossible. A modified brake duct? That seems like something with a direct effect on performance. Some common sense and what is best for the sport needs to be used. It doesn't need to be (and shouldn't be) a black & white issue. For non-performance related violations, $$ fines and/or grid penalties could be imposed and if the same violation occurred again, well, then the drastic penalties could be justified to fans. Imagine if Porsche had won a high-profile race like Daytona or Sebring and 4 days later they wipe out the win for a wiring harness modification that had zero effect on the car's performance

Petit Le Mans is Saturday, who's attending and who's watching? I'll be there early and looking forward to a great weather day for racing. Strong field of 53 cars. A sure bonus will be checking out the Porscheplatz.

William930t 10-11-2024 08:28 PM

Porscheplatz last year I had to wipe my drool off the left part of the rear bumper, hope to see the owner this year and tell him I am sorry, nice car with tasteful mods!
