DRS and strategy may determine today's race winner . And will Gasly/Ocon play nice ?
|
Battle of the upgrades: McLaren and Mercedes really improving, Aston in the toilet with theirs, Ferrari only average. RB still unusually good with Max’s car…
|
Pulling off 1.9 second pit stops under race pressure conditions is amazing . RB are far from done but others are working hard and getting close . Love it or hate it the drivers make a difference . Just look at Max vs Sergio .
Alpine ....... wow . They were stick a fork in them crap at the beginning of the season and are slowly getting better . Williams/Haas/Vcarb/AM really struggling. Not sure about Sauber . On to the next race . |
Max had to really work hard for this race. No 20+ second lead while just cruising.
|
Max and the team and Horner know how to win . Listening today once Max got the lead Horner asked Max to protect his tires . And he did . They then pulled off a 1.9 second pit stop . Race going as planned .
Second pit stop was slower at 2.8 seconds but still going as planned . With aprox 18 laps left Horner asks Max to pick up the pace . And he does . They have controlling a race down to a science . Others are getting closer on pace but you have to have the whole deal . It is getting more enjoyable to watch the races but until you consistently beat Max/RB they will continue to win championships . |
The news we've all been breathlessly waiting for ... Lance Stroll confirmed through "at least" 2026, or as long as Daddy Stroll owns the team - whichever comes first  This must be an example of what Liberty Media and the F1 Owners refer to as added value for the franchise when they denied the Cadillac-Andretti entry.
|
Dad can I borrow the car?
|
Gasly signed an extension with Alpine .

There's some politics going on behind the scenes for sure. 75% of the F1 grid are essentially field-fillers with ZERO chance of even a podium and you've got a heavy hitter like General Motors willing to do whatever it takes - but F1 says they don't have what it takes? It's comical. Well, I'm predicting that Andretti will takeover the Cadillac WEC Hypercar program next year to get a further footing into the European scene. They're not backing down.

Wow, what a sprint qualifying!
McLaren really improving, but what the hell is going on with Aston Martin, how are they falling soooooo far back?! Someone needs to be fired… |

It will be interesting to see if McLaren learned anything in the sprint race that will help them in qualifying and tomorrow's race . Likewise did Red Bull learn anything to tweek their setup for Max . It seems Ferrari and Mercedes are close in performance .

It sure doesn't look like Max and Red Bull are a team falling apart  .

Tsunoda gets a 40k euro fine for swearing on the radio. Seriously, WTF! He's Mr. Potty mouth, but they all swear on the radio.
|
He didn't swear.

Wow! Martin Brundle doing something somewhat interesting for once - a pit lane walk instead of his supremely stupid grid walk. Spoke too soon, he's back out on the grid interviewing the Glitteratti
