Garage
We don't often get snow here, but when we do it is a chore like it would be anywhere else. When the shovel is loaded I grab down low close to the load with my left hand and up high with my right then lift the load with my knees; one day I won't be able to but I stay within my abilities rather than compromise my health. Any physical work around the house is good exercise as I see it. Leverage is your friend.

Here's a guy who uses leverage and creativity to his advantage.

Was at Menards yesterday and saw this one. It just snaps in place...no bolts.
Haven't used it yet because most of the snow is gone now.

And if it's mostly slush, the load will be easy to keep from tipping.

$10 at Amazon.....https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KNDM8M6?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1
(after reading my posting...I see that I spelled Northerners wrong)

Mine just arrived today. So, now I need snow but I'd rather have the dry cold so the ice comes back to the pond.

^^^ Just a warning...be careful that you don't over-tighten the two bolts. My neighbor had one that he figured needed to be super-tight....broke the plastic.
(Amazon replaced it with another one)
