Buddy Sent Me some Old Car Pictures

I can't believe he found these. My '69 Super Bee, his '67 R/T, and another buddy's '68 Road Runner. This was about 1978 or '79. I had owned the Road Runner, and would eventually own the R/T.

How cool is that? Once reaching a certain age, memories become more important. I have a similar photo, a bit fuzzy because it was taken with an old Kodak Instamatic camera with a not the best lens. A now deceased buddy & I and my old '66 GTO... We can't be the only ones here with USA muscle being our automotive roots..

Memories...... There is a special place in my heart for the Chargers and Road Runners of that era. Even the tuners today would likely giggle if they rode in one for a pass. Just a different sort of automotive animal. I remember how the dashboards would rise.

Hard to pick a favorite in that lineup. Roadrunners are cool because they're Roadrunners. The shape of the Super Bee - especially the shape of the rear flanks - is just gorgeous, and the R/T is stealth - Not for everyone, but a select few understand.

Very nice, Jeff....thanks for sharing! Many of us were lucky enough to have been around in that era. Another aspect of the muscle car era that I like was the advertising. Not just for muscle cars. All of them including Volkswagens, trucks/vans, motorcycles, and sports cars. Also, I remember how fast the news traveled while I was in high school here in Florida in the early 70's when the decision was made for the Highway Patrol to start driving those 440's.....fastest cars on the road!

I learned to drive in my dad's '66 Coronet 2-door coupe with the 383. That car is still in my mom's garage...

Wegot the anesthesiologist's daughter instead of the gynecologists's, too bad.
