A Christmas For Motor Racing Movie Fans?

You probably think I’m referring to “Ferrari”, due to hit theatres in time for Christmas, and I will be seeing that.

But what I’m more excited about is “Race For Glory”, about Audi, Quattro, Mikkola against Lancia, 037, Rohrl. A freaking Group B movie! Supposed to be released January 5 (?) in probably not many theaters, but I’ll find one. I’ll let the sleuths post details, trailer, etc. I don’t even know how to embed a video here.

I suspect the premise will be how the 2WD Lancia beat the all-mightly 4WD Audi due to driver skill, etc. Keep in mind as you watch it, the Audi quattro was a production car that was modified slightly (in the early years anyway) for rallying. The Lancia 037 (one of my all-time favorite cars) was a pure race car from the ground up. They built the race car first, then they de-tuned it to sell as a homolgation car to qualify for Group B. In fact, every Group B car other than the quattro was a race car first. Should be interesting to see how they script this ....

The car I have for a long time, Pirelli makes an ultrawide 16" vintage tire for it that is slightly too tall for a 911.

It almost seems surreal to watch that trailer - in the best way possible, with a big ʇᴉɥs-eatin' grin on my face

What's next? A movie all about Seb racing Pikes Peak?

I’m guessing it’ll be Italian passionne vs German engineering but as long as there’s lots of racing, I’m good. I’ll even forgive the apparent moment (in trailer) when the cars race side by side, as long as it’s just a fluky bit.

This is a wonderful series that you can screen for free on YouTube. It started this week.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAxHhfuyw58 I will not spoil the ending but it is about my friend Zac Anderson. I met Zac when we both were instructors at Porsche in LA. Zac was the fastest guy there, and a wonderful, modest human being. He left to pursue a career as a professional racer. This series documents that experience last year and is well worth a watch. Thanks and if anyone watches it I would love to hear your feedback. https://youtu.be/zAxHhfuyw58?si=4qvP_le-USGMNUUg Steve

Likely one of the worst "race car" movies I've ever seen. Superbly disappointing. The story line, acting and action scenes were just horrible and uninspiring. I'm serious...this movie sux. I feel like asking Amazon to refund the $4.74 I spent renting it.
