Significant Other Valentines Day Gift Idea Thread - 2024 edition

Guys - I have a bit of marital emergency...

What are you giving your SO for Valentine's Day this year? Its a week away and I have no F'ing idea what to get my wife this year. She doesn't want to go out for supper (daughter has swimming lessons) so I will likely cook a nice meal for the family.

I was specifically told that for Christmas, all we needed to do was buy each other plane tickets for an upcoming trip. Like an idiot, I believed her, and of course she got me stuff for Christmas, and keeps bringing up the fact I didn't get her anything. I did regift her the box of chocolates my boss gave me. What, that doesn't count?

Does she have a hobby that you could shop for?

Mrs mjohnson might be receiving a big (like gallons) bucket full of tinned Portugese and Spanish preserved fish, mussels, peppers and the like. Ours was mail order from Zingermans in AA, MI - so it might be too late to achieve such greatness.

What's more romantic than aged seafood packed in brine and oil?

(her 50th was last month, and it was a big to-do, so V-day this year is an afterthought and kind of just for giggles. And she really likes oily dead things in cans...)

This will be our 47th Valentines day of which 45 are married . I buy a nice card , some flowers and we go out to either breakfast/lunch/dinner her choice . It's worked fine so far 😁 .
