What watch do you wear?
I'm not a watch enthusiast, but I'd like a watch that feels period correct when driving my little '77 outlaw and interested in what others are doing. I'm thinking vintage Heuer or Speedmaster. Looking $5k or less.
If you own a watch specifically purchased or worn for driving your vintage 911, share a photo and thoughts. |

Would love to see it! Love that it was your dad's
I have my dad's oyster perpetual, which is period correct, but not exactly a car watch. Last edited by Undecided; 03-09-2024 at 07:27 AM.. |

None. I'm brutal on them. My phone is all I need. Actually I don't see the point of a watch.

I made a wrist band for my watch with the same leather that covers the seats in my 911.
The watch is nothing special, but I liked the idea to have it match the 911 interior. Maybe someday I’ll find on eBay a Porsche watch that I like and it will be even better… Could be something like that:

Original orfina porsche design chrono would compliment well. Dont pay 4k for one though. I have one i wear occasionally. Otherwise omega speedmaster, vintage heuer, or big budget strech for a pre ceramic daytona all fit the theme well

Bring your 77 out, no one will ever noticed your watch but they will take you through the ringer on your car. You think they are harsh now, wait 'til they eyeball your car
![]() You will get used to it. Just a bunch of young punks having fun. Thick skin, my friend |

I deleted some posts and welcome, Undecided. I wear a Omega Seamaster I bought when I made O-6 in the Navy. It makes me happy. I am P-Car deficient at this time (which will be fixed soon) so no pictures. That was over 20 years ago and it is on it's second "cleaning". Not bad. While it is gone I am wearing a Casio. Just to keep the FB vibe, chicks dig Casio's ![]() Best.

Doxa 5000T. Big, clunky, heavy. I love it.
But I wear an Apple Watch for the monitoring capabilities daily now. Lets me track my heart rate while I work out and gives me an idea of how I’m sleeping. |

A Glycine Airman like this one
![]() The Glycine was a gift and I love it for the engineering involved in a mechanical watch and the fact that it's a 24 hour watch. AND an Apple Watch on the other hand which I wear because it tells me when I have texts or calls and can be used for alarms and timers. Since I have the watch, I keep my phone set to silent nearly 100% of the time.

My dad has passed on since I had started the thread below. Still wearing his watch as my daily.

I have a box of nice automatic watches, but I haven't actually worn one in years. No need with the other time sources available.

I mostly wear a Casio Forester I bought at Wally World for Twenty some bucks. I mostly just wear a watch when I'm working outside to tell when to come in for lunch or dinner.
