Slow build is right but it was done well and I agree. Excellent movie, gf and I really enjoyed it.

Not a spoiler: The sweater at the end was awesome, someone gave me one of those, it was hideous.

the twist with the irish pointing out that racism/colonialism historically has always always included inter white racism, and that being a colonizer is in itself also traumatic ...

like, so ****ing good.

i think it does that amazing thing where it takes a thing, says, racism is bad. then it breaks down racism, and says, there are many kinds and components to racism, and all of them are terrible to people both the oppressed and the oppressors, who were always once the oppressed as well, and then it circles back at the end and ends on, but yeah, racism is always bad, no matter what the ****ty reason you have to justify it.

so good. loved it.
