"My Phone works perfectly"
ARGGG!!
My phone went dead this morning. It seemed reasonable that it was a victim of the big phone blackout, but to be sure I asked my wife if her phone was working. "My Phone works perfectly." So I spend half an hour trying to find out what was wrong with my phone. In a fit of brilliance I asked her who she had called today, or what calls she has accepted. "None. I haven't used my phone all day." "How do you know it's working perfectly?" "Uh ..." "Try to call me." Her phone is as dead as mine. We go through this all the time. Trying to get her help diagnosing a problem is SOOOO DAMN FRUSTRATING!!

It was on the morning tv news that it was a nation-wide problem. I think they also said it was primarily AT&T
Texting wasn't affected.

Oh interesting. That may explain why my daughter’s phone lost all bars and went into SOS mode this morning. Interestingly my phone right next to it did not. Same carrier and plan.

I was in the middle of texting with AMB when the phone stopped responding to in or out text or voice. I was pretty stressed already because our quilting machine wasn't working, and now the phone too? Damn....

Get off my lawn!

At my house I have phone service. Many parts of town were dead. Kinda like driving through parts of middle of nowhere NM. Just nothing.
I bet AT&T and the others are sweating bullets, and the techs are working hard too fix it.

Thank you for this. It’s a crappy, cold, rainy day so we watched this with a bottle of wine and popcorn. Great escape movie and the nice prominent IBTs on one of the actors added interest (for me).

Mine too. So does my ATT flip phone.
Seems like the Luddites pay less and have more reliability!

I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering...Chinese hackers making a test run?

on iPhone, you can turn on "WiFi calls" ... it will route VoIP trough your internet connection. Perhaps it helps?

I read multiple AT&T users didn’t notice any drop in reception, because they don’t have any signal strength anyway. 😂
My phone worked, but I have terrible signal strength. |

Oh and my house. Which is in one of the wealthiest and most densely populated counties in the country. You know - lots of people that can afford multiple plans per household. Which is why I switched to Verizon. That actually seems to work. |

I switched from Verizon to AT&T last summer because of poor signal strength. All I did was go from the frying pan to the fire. Better in some places and worse than others.
