I had been biking in shorts and short sleeves when it started. By the time it was almost over, I had long pants and a hoodie on. The temp dropped quickly.

It was sunny here and around 3 it slowly got dark. My auto headlights came on even though it was still fairly light. Even the outdoor lights in the grocery store came on. It got as dark as when a big thunderstorm is heading my way. By 3:30 it was back to normal.

We were in the 80% range at work in Georgia. It got a little dusky looking while I was driving around the test track.

We got about 2 minutes of totality. I was expecting 4 minutes, but I found out we would have had to be about 50 miles north to get the full 4 minutes.
![]() I used an SLR without a filter - not the best for photographing an eclipse. But I did pick up a big solar flare at about 4 o'clock in this photo. ![]() At totality you could see a lot of smaller solar flares from 3 to 6 o'clock on the disk. ![]() This was the horizon at the point of totality.

Some people we know were totally freaked out by the eclipse. One of Vicki's friends closed her blinds and spend the eclipse in the her basement. Another friend, who is normally a pretty smart guy, though there was a real possibility this was the end of the world.
![]() I told Vicki the sun would not come back unless we wore yellow - the color of the sun - and performed the Bawanna Janda ritual during totality. She was buying it until I told her Bawanna Janda = BJ. ![]() ![]()
