I try to buy local, but to be honest, I find myself buying on Amazon mostly. I’ve never bought on ****. I’ve seen their ads on various websites and it just screamed cheap.

I think I bought an E46 electric fan controller from Alibaba, because it’s the only place I’ve ever seen it sold separately. I bought it as a spare.

There are many items available on Amazon that simply aren't available anywhere brick / mortar.

I needed a new pair of trauma shears. I had the choice of ordering it online directly from Leatherman with 2-3 day delivery or overnight from Amazon Prime for the same spend.

Yep, kind of a no brainer. And Leatherman isn't, I don't think, a small business that needs direct support. It's not like a small local family owned business that needs the support.

I bought a couple bottles of Heinz 57 at the Harris Teeter a few weeks ago. I think they were about six dollars each.

I looked on Amazon, and found a much larger bottle for seven dollars. Delivery the next day.

I refuse to use the name that shall not be mentioned. I too try to buy American but it is difficult sometimes.

It is similar to Amazon in that you give them money and they send something to you.

I got ads for a boroscope video camera on a snake neck for $14. I said, it's time to finally do this and clicked on the phone site and had to play a game wheel three times in a row before proceeding. I left at the third one. Not my culture. It's like watching my kid play Sonic the Hedgehog in the wayback. I could never follow it.

I did look at the desktop website. It's less childish but still chose not to buy anything.

Shein was a hoot trying to get access. "Oh, get the app and you will get $200 in free stuff". Downloaded app and no free offer then offers like X discount for this much spend and that much spend then two phone notifications in 1/2 hour and I never completed it. Ohhh, and a bogus text from my friend who sent me the link originally urging me on as it was so great (for him to get a little bonus - all machine generated).

I am not too proud to buy cheap crap but I don't deserve to be assaulted.

I'll get through it one day.

Apps Shmapps. Just don't do it.
I suspect some of the nonfunctional browser apps I've used (with all the 'permissions') are only made to steal internet history and/or content.

I think that's what most apps do
