I was watching a speaker review this morning and saw this in the comments: "There is a review out there with objective measurements on the FR 10 might make one think twice or ten times before goin in that direction. For $10k I have high expectations. For $100k Jay has even higher expectations. Don’t get out too far over your skis." |
Thanks to the internet, phrases and cliches spread like wildfire, including several variations of the ski analogy. I’ve heard for years that it is, “getting ahead of your skis,” which sounds a lot better than the other abominations. IMSHO, of course. ⛷️

Another problem for Tesla: the Chinese EV companies have gone through ferocious survival-of-the-fittest competition in their domestic market, while benefiting from tons of government subsidy and protectionism, and the ones that came out on top are ready to annihilate Western EV companies with inexpensive, feature-laden, appliance cars. Tesla was the last Western EV company seriously competing in China, but now it only has 10% share vs BYD at 33%. In Latin America and Asia, where Chinese EVs are sold, they are wiping the floor with Western brands. The same will happen in Europe and the US, unless those countries use tariffs and other protectionist tools to keep the Chinese market penetration down - which I think is pretty likely. So forget about Tesla growing big in China, Asia, LatAm - its growth potential is limited to North America and Europe.

delivery vehicles seem like the most obvious application for EVs. tesla is sinking not cause EVs are sinking, but because their are no more adults in the room at tesla. all the serious people got tired of dealing with musk and left, and now its just musk being the whiny child he is, and hes destroying what everyone else built. |

Don't know about the Elon thing but as far as electrics....I have THREE electric bikes and love all 3 for the differences they bring to the table.
Much like I love my Silverado 1500, Volvo 850 wagon, and (insert model) Porsche....for the differences they bring to the table. Point being......why REPLACE one with another? Why not just offer them....and let the market slowly do it's thing? If you want folks to buy your product you don't MANDATE it - you make the product attractive and functional (form/function) and they will come. Electric vehicles should also very affordable. I don't know who makes that happen but it's another issue getting in the way of things. Rode my ebike on the beach today and that sucker can get up to 30mph......talk about friendly to the environment fun! :) |
