A little late this year but the signs are out for this years crop.

Only two miles away from my place....the first year he fenced it in. Over half the two acre crop was uprooted and stolen.

Now he places these signs to deter them.

Don't know about elsewhere but in WA and OR an ounce of premium bud flower at a dispensary is so cheap at stores now I don't understand why these punks are ramming store fronts and stealing product.

We're talking around $100 for 28 grams if you buy in an ounce, $35-45 for an 1/8.

Great Business Model. Wholesalers have a glut and retail market represents that.

Most of the people I talk to that frequent the dispensaries here are buying mostly gummies.
I think they are getting the flower elsewhere because it's too expensive at the store. (state tax)

From someone not in the know, how long would 28 grams last a typical user? The last time I ever smoked this stuff I was 22 years old (50 years ago!) and just got my first real job and wanted to keep it (good reason in my book). It seems like in a lid as we used to call it, (there was also something called a nickle and a dime too), was enough for a party all night at school. I'm not going to be a hypocrite and condemn those that use since I did too back at that age.

^^^ I don't follow the prices here at all. But I do know that today's stuff is much more potent than that of the 60's or early 70's.
So that is a big factor in the pricing.

I smoked cigs until the early 80's and then quit. My mother died from COPD...I don't want to take any more chances with my lungs.

I have an older sis ....

In the early 70s, a "four finger lid" (approx 1 oz baggie) was $20... and ya needed a double album cover, a frisbee, or a pizza tray . When sinsemilla appeared on my college campus in the late 70s .... you had to know somebody and it was $7/gram .... but it was good .... just rare. And good bud from '80 was right up there with good bud of the past few decades imo.

And we got the primo stuff from CA, etc. .... but paid 3-4 times what RH is quoting.... per oz.

I was a few years earlier...I remember $15 for a baggie. Of course most of them had a lot of stems and it would take a half hour of smoking to get any effect.

I remember the water bongs in college.....they would work.

There was a large field of hemp here a couple of years ago. People lost their minds when the male hemp plants pollenated the neighborhood female cannabis plants that people were growing to smoke.

I counter with:

How long does a 6-pack of Beer or 1/5th - 1/2 Gallon of Rum last your normal consumption rate.?

I giggle as I lived in the "2 finger baggie" of leaf that was mostly seeds and stems from Mexico. You could smoke 10 joints in a row and not get a buzz. Truth.

In the 70's and 80's off the Pacific Coast you'd hear on the news of Bales of Pot washing up on beach shore. Being in my Teens, I never wanted to be greedy so only wanted to find One Bail of it.

But, we had awesome gold, blonde, and dark Hash cubes. Hot Knifes under stove elements anyone? Back then we had the name brands of Flower, Panama Red, Maui Wowie, and Thai-stick wrapped with hemp fiber.

Now, 2 or 3 puffs of the top shelf bud will get you motivated or mellow for a couple hours.

Never in my living days did I expect to have Basket-n-Robins Marijuana Stores with more than 31 different flavors of product. Vaping with Cartridge's is popular too with all sorts of flavors.

At least 5 decades of heavy use by a fairly large segment of the population according to studies and what do we have now AFA a motivated workforce? Coincidence? Sure, that argument will hold water.
