Anyone here make aluminum emblems ?
We are building a special 911 for a client. Our goal is to put a polished aluminum logo on the 70's glove box door. we have the artwork / file. Already experimented with 3D and plastic prototypes, so this should go easy with someone with the right tooling / machine
Any suggestions ? thanks! Dave

Anybody with a small CNC mill should be able to machine that out. There are 3D printers that can do titanium out there, machining would be cheaper.

most of our neighborhood machine shops are not interested in making one piece. The brain just woke up and perhaps a Hollywood production shop can steer us in the right direction

Hopefully the art file is in the format that one of the online cutters can process it w/o having to reprogram it. You will get it back rather squarish, Don't know about Xometry but SCS says this:
"SendCutSend does not chamfer, bevel, or 3D machine the edges of parts. We only offer 2D perpendicular cuts and cannot produce any kind of chamfered or radiused edge options." So a little hand work might be in order. funny, I can't remember where I obtained my raised letter "Carrera R" script. ![]() Yeah, there are two 2ND LOV's' How can that be? |

xometry can make anything - they have 1000s of shops and the work is impecable. I had some custom filters made for me over christmas that had never been made correctly before since we developed that tool in 2006. They did 0.005" wide slits with wire EDM as opposed to 0.007" wide slits from using 0.005" wire... The cost was good and i had them in under a week, presumably from China. A friend just had some anodized aluminum parts done that were like jewlery.

Laser/water jet cut and polish. Send cut send.
Or any CNC shop if you want a machine to do the profile work.
