Bolt size, so I know.
Book says bolt mounting bolt is m10x28. I order tap and die and they say 10x28. Bolt much bigger than tap, like 2x the size. Tap says 10x28 on it. Can 10x28 have different meanings. Thanks
From earlier question, friend found me replacement bolt, seat now installed. |
M10 is 10 mm. a 10 machine screw is quite small. like used to hold receptacle cover on the wall. also. I think the 28 is the length. a metric thread pitch is listed as threads per mm. like 1.25.

Thanks, I was thinking the 28 was some strange pitch. I guess they are torx bolts which use a E12.

10-28 is machine screw in imperial size. M10x28 is metric and is 10mm x 28mm long. So pretty close to 7/16" x a little over 1" long.

good to know the pitch for m10 before ordering tap it will be 1.5mm or 1.25mm I think
