What's worse than lawyer commercials? Drug commercials!

I don't see many commercials since we cut the cord years ago. We started getting some streaming services for free, and since they are free, they have a few commercials (1-3 per 45min show). I just saw one for an Alopecia drug. One of the comments at the end of the list of possible side effects was "don't use Litfulo if you are allergic to Litfulo as it could kill you" or something pretty close to that.

I have CBS news streaming in the morning while I do my get up get goin' routine. They have so many Rx commercials that I think they must be a major stock holder.

The mute button is a good defense to all those ads. It's sort of pathetic when competing attorneys run ads back to back to back. We watch local news from maybe 630am to 730am, we have one good just local news channel, no network news, just to keep up on the overnight killings and mayhem on the east and west sides. Seriously though the attorney and drug ads are relentless. The drug ads seem to start in the evening, the lawyers run in the morning.

Pretty soon we'll have 'lawyers on drugs' commercials!

I probably ran 20+ in-home appointments this week and probably 10x, while in the home, those damn Colonial Penn commercials came on the tv. There is no more misleading commercial out there, but I do get stuck having to explain it a few times per week.

There was a time that it was illegal to advertise medications anywhere but a trade magazine for doctors. Like into the 1980s I think

Yes, mute is good, but they are still just awful. I find the whole drug commercial thing especially offensive.

I'm sure we've all received the "if you ever took drug XYZ, then you may be entitled to a settlement" ads, emails, etc....

Someone needs to bring that back, but I'm pretty sure there's too much money in it for too many people.

On a stretch of Houston freeway (interstate technically) there is a section that's about 3 miles long where one pair of lawyers have 6 billboards visible if you're headed South. I'm pretty sure they've got another 3-6 if you're headed north. (ok, I actually like one of them)

Still, when I get hammered by ads for attorneys, those are the LAST attorneys that I'd EVER use.

We've got a few local folks that do ads, furniture, lawyer, etc..., and the lawyer who now has a son that's a lawyer, not in a million years would I go to that guy "the Texas hammer".

I guess you know you are allergic if you wake up dead.

That's a definite sign/symptom.

I think the political ads are the worst. But I have and use my DVR. I don't ever watch live commercial TV. I fast forward through all ads.

Ambulance chaser ads all day long. Some are terrible, thank goodness for mute button. What makes me chuckle is when lawyer says: “if we lose, you don’t pay”. Who would hire a law firm that loses cases?

Well, there's no guaranty that every case is won. Most folks don't have a perfect record no matter how good they are.

I think in many/most cases, they take a portion of the awarded funds, a big part of it.

I like the “Poop” box ad. Take it on a picnic, to the movies, family gatherings etc. SNL did a great satire on it.

I'll watch drug and insurance commercials all day long. Just don't tell me about your "ugly, yellow toe fungus" or your stinky butthole.

LOL! I'm pretty sure that if you hang out here long enough, both will come up more than once. (pretty sure they probably already have).

It’s those “Crystal Flush” and “Lume’ Deodorant” commercials. TMI.

Yeah, the Lume ads are maybe the worst in regards to the normal propriety of what we think of civil discourse in the US.
The ad shows some lady of about 40 years old talking about her intimate smell problems. She is confident her product can help all those gals with this smell problem. I don't think guys or even gals want to hear about what your female parts smell like or even how nice they could smell like and how Lume can help out. That seems to start about 9 PM around here. This is just too over the top, and how is it the TV people can just let this go on? No respect of their audience.

I can take the commercials, it’s when the volume goes up to 11 and blows the speakers out, that drives me nuts.

LOL! Yeah, glad I haven't seen any of those.
