I'm being screened for a study on Fatty Liver disease.
I had never heard of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver disease. Thank God I don't have it. They're calling it, "the new heart disease" because of the number of people it sneaks up on and kills. So far there is no cure.
My gastro doctor suggested I volunteer for a study on the disease because I fit the demographic for high cholesterol, high blood pressure, but only moderate BMI.
Yesterday they did a series of scans for liver fat and fibrosis and I have none of either but I'm going to get a series of scans for the study, maybe for the rest of my life.

Like Patrick, I fit a demographic Hopkins was interested in tracking and it was an experience I cherish, especially the junior Dr's and Nurses.

I asked a lot of questions, shocking, and they were so eff'ing smart it just gave me faith.
