Mid-Ohio. There is a series of turns called “madness.” It’s like driving your own roller coaster.

Laguna Seca. We race mostly on Willow Springs, its ok. Too bad that Fontana is going away, not very challenging, but close. I wish I could have raced at Riverside.

Wanna see some real racing?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMsjir09I-w Jackie Stewart watching a world of outlaws race, was asked if he'd like to drive one. He replied that he'd left his helmet at home. Told he could borrow a helmet, he replied; "Left my balls at home too." Get to a dirt track for pure race enjoyment...take goggles and a mask for dust protection, and enjoy the show..

Riverside short course.
Holtville (long course) Laguna Seca (before they girly-fied it) Ontario Motor Speedway (the road course, counter-clockwise) Big Willow Springs (when that's all there was) Riverside Can-Am course. Riverside NASCAR course. Sears Point (when there was nothing there but the track) Phoenix |

I recently drove Eagles Canyon Raceway near Decatur, TX. It is my new favorite. More fun and more difficult than Laguna Secca, and 100 times prettier. 2.7 miles of fun.
Roebling Road near Savannah, GA is dead flat and just sweepers with a straight and pretty easy, but fun when done right.

I've enjoyed every track I've been on.
Didn't have a favorite until I drove "The Ridge " in Shelton, WA. Maybe because it was brand new, but more likely because I was driving a Lamborghini that was so much faster than my Porsche track toy. Oh, what an intoxicating howl blowing by Start/Finish at 8000 rpm |

I raced at VIR once in maybe 2003. I drove a BMW 2002 though. I loved that track too but it was a long tow for me. I loved driving up through the esses!

Bridgehampton, out on Long Island.

I‘ve raced at many tracks in many different vehicles and surprisingly I would say my favorite is Sebring. Sebring is rough and flat and grueling but it just flows so nicely. Road Atlanta would be #2. Great flow also. Tying for 3rd would be Indianapolis (not a great track to race on, but the history and facility is just so cool) and NCM. I initially hated NCM, but the Grand Full Course configuration is a lot of fun.

Start at the Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas. Head west to the starting line at FM150. Run the course either way. Left start is FM 150 to FM 3237 to Lone Man Mountain Rd to Old Oaks Ranch Rd to RR12, to FM 150 and back to start/finish. For 3 different tracks, take Elder Hill Rd and split them up.
Go eat BBQ. Best track in America. https://www.google.com/maps/@30.1179854,-98.0819102,13z?hl=en

Thunderhill
I'm just a 73 year old rookie, only been to two tracks: Sears Point in my old hot rod 914, with the redwood region and Thunderhill several times in my old 77 308, doing ferrari club DE days.
I preferred thunderhill because it had better visability, run off areas and a lot less gurard rails. Good surfaces and covered pit area. Looking forward to getting the freshened 74 to the track, Direzzionales and Jongbloeds just arrived. chris |

Like Spa and many of the Euro tracks.
Thankfully I can drive Spa on the driving simulator. I've raced on every track in California including Streets of Long Beach and the Thermal club. Like Laguna Seca but my favorite track is Miller full course in Utah. Miller now called Utah Motorsports Campus. Liked racing at Streets of Long Beach, just before the race after weeks of practice on the simulator I finally got the rhythm of LB. Laguna Seca is the most scenic track surrounded by a state park and camping. While it may not be my favorite track it hosts my favorite historic race, Reunion and Pre Reunion. Racing on the runways of the North Island Navy base was my favorite for a while because it was only 20 minutes from home. Also since in my 20s I was a Navy air traffic controller at North Island. We raced the last event in 2016, our's was the last race on Sunday afternoon and we won it. The morning race was fun starting last after having to replace a battery the day before. Like to make an 11 on any track. Last edited by ted; 07-10-2021 at 07:37 AM.. |

Has to be Riverside. Dad took us, my brother and I, to the Times Grand Prix a number of times back in the early '60's. When we were finally able to drive ourselves we attended many races there. I took a Keith Code motorcycle class there and was present when my brother ran his Speedster racecar at the last race held there before it finally was plowed under.
Laguna Seca is a very close second as I've actually been able to do parade laps there, first in my brother's '67 S, then in my own 912. This after having attended many bike races there before the track changed configuration.
