Don’t see why not. It’s a sealed system, however I’ll bet the manufacturer never tested it that way!

Yes, they flipped the compressor upside down in the enclosure before hanging it.

Look at the yellow user guide sticker; it's right side up, so the unit is made for that service scenario.

you loose the natural convection efficiency, but yeah, otherwise it should work.

Most manufacturers say no due to design. I think the fan is designed to be spinning in the upright position for wear longevity. There are certain oil less AC units and they say mount it anyway you want.
