What if Linda had joined the Eagles?
 

There are a few of their songs that, in my imagination, I can hear her voice - and it's great.

Desperado of course, no imagination needed.

Lyin’ Eyes

New Kid in Town

Peaceful Easy Feeling

especially Tequila Sunrise

But others, Already Gone, Life in the Fast Lane – not so much. And you can’t really improve on One of These Nights

Yes, even I don't sound this bad. Then again, perhaps I do.

Her voice would fit right in, but I wonder if her looks and warm personality would've overshadowed the rest of the group - at least to the world press - and caused even more jealously and discord.

But, I wouldn't have thought that Joe Walsh would've fit in as well as he did. Can't imagine the Eagles without him now.

She gives me goosebumps every time. If there was ever a voice that came directly from the Angels hers is the one.

And Vince Gill? He is a great singer/ musician but I never thought he would fit in the Eagles. His voice on “Take it to the Limit” will bring tears to your eyes and chills down your spine.

The Desperado album is one of my top 10 all time albums from start to finish. Although Linda's cover version is ok, it would diminish the entire album.

She still sounded better than Yoko Ono. Now Yoko sounded like a cat being tortured. :eek:

Linda could make anything sound great- and she did. She did other genres even though she was told not to. She is a treasure. Such a shame that Parkinson's took away her singing voice, at least professionally. Her grace about it is impressive. It's interesting that the Eagles formed their nucleus as Linda's back up band.

That was painful to listen to.

Yikes! I remember back when "Lennon specs" were popular and Berkley Breathed (Bloom County creator) released one of his anthology books and had a fake newspaper ad sheet in it where he advertised "Yoko specs" like she is wearing in that vid.

Opera isn't my thing, but you can't help but respect the skill and talent that goes into it. She gets rolling at about 2:00 here.
