RC Flight Fest 2024 - "Air Battlebots"?

Fun stuff. After the first minute, the good stuff begins around the 18 minute point.

With certain tweaks that aircraft could be pretty lethal

Thanks for posting

I flew Rc many, many years ago.
We flew the foam combat planes a fair amount-- it was a blast! I can't imagine what it is like today. As humans, our depth perception is so limited, flying combat in the air is a lot harder than it looks. gary

RC planes really are a good time. The least stressful i had was a 'slowstick'. Cheap as heck and super easy to fly. Good times.

Been Flying and still do, for 45 years. Lipo Batteries and Ready to Fly kits with spread spectrum radios have changed everything...............I still remember flipping over an .049 Cox Kmart control line model airplane flying circles on 15' of dental floss. Smell of Nitro burning and the sting of it flushing a fresh finger prop cut is ingrained deep in my psyche.

Motor Gliders are my latest. Sporty on 4S, or just thermal around and loiter for 20-30 minutes with bursts of fun.

I thought he’d built a real helicopter for a few seconds at the start. Kinda disappointed coming from that premise…

Way back in the 70s we flew combat flights with a glider. But the foe was not another plane, but a red tailed hawk. Every time we flew on the same hill it was only a matter of time until we came under attack by a hawk. They always swooped down from behind, thinking they wouldn't be seen. But we saw them from the ground and were able to make evasive maneuvers.

But they made some hits anyway and eventually brought us down by ripping holes in the monocoat on the wings. I'm so glad we didn't have video games back then.

Flew my motor glider last night after several months down and some Higgins induced repairs.

Man what a blast, low and slow, fast and scoot, up high and thermal. It does it all and can easily be transported in most any car fully assembled. You can buy these Bind and Fly now. Get a Radio/Batteries/Plane and you're in the air in 10 minutes.

Heck without Porsche 911 throttle bursts you can get an easy 15-20 minute flights out of a 3s or 4s pack.

But hah hah, 5 minute WFO sprints with unlimited vertical rolls and a resulting hot hot battery is fun too. 14.4V packs with 40-60amp speed controllers.

That is super cool and looked like a lot of fun. While I do not have the skillset to build anything even remotely like that, I enjoyed watching the whole video.
