Better than a Singer?
 

The Kalmar 9x9 will be introduced this weekend at The Quail, A Motorsport Gathering in Monterey CA. From early CGI renderings it looks superb, combining body cues from the 959, 993 and 992. Canepa will be the first US exclusive dealer with a price tag beyond $1.5 million and super limited production. I am looking forward to seeing actual photos. What do you think and would you even consider this as an investment?

A little over-the-top for me. Not that I can afford one.

Steve, I didn't like the Gunther Werk's car that much until I finally saw one in person at Air and Water here few months ago. Its very nicely built, clean details everywhere you look.

The Kalmar is a bit over the top for me also.

They have taken a "pretty" 911 and kinda ruined it.

Wheel arches are wrong and devoid of Porsche's classic style - very 991/2 - and there is too much overhang at front and rear of the car.

Frankly, it looks too much like a 1970s kit car 959. Apologies to those that like it, but this is a nah.

Who’s going to service it?

Maybe its the green color, but the styling and lines looks squashed and not particularly attractive.

I'm planning to get 2 of each (Singer, Gunther, and Kalmar) so I have spares.

Good thinking Steve. Maybe in different colors so if you get bored you just drive the other one.

Crap, now I need 3 each so I get more color variety!
