My dad had one just like that. Same color, but I have no idea what engine he had. I was to young remember where he bought it. But I know it was with us in Hawaii. When we moved back to the states in 1962 we took a cruise ship, the Matsonia as a family, and the car was on the ship with us. I have home movies of it getting unloaded from the ship.
Dad said after a few years of driving in Hawaii with no interstate level roads and a 45 MPH max speed he drove it away from the docks into LA traffic at 70 MPH and he knew he had just one gallon of gas to get to the first gas station. He said the traffic was a real adjustment as everyone was flying at 70 and 80 MPH. It is a car I have never seen at a car show.

A guy I went to school with had one when they first came out. It had a small engine & three on a tree. I thought that was kind of odd at the time, but his dad bought it for him so I guess he had the say. It wasn't that his dad couldn't afford to buy one with a bigger engine, etc., since he was the guy who invented and manufactired the universal gym machines.
