Eyeball / brain teaser for today - what do you think this says?

I'm trying to recreate some stickers on our old solar car racer. I cannot figure out what this says (above DESCENTE).

What do you think? It looks familiar to me, but I can't place it...

This is from a photograph taken in 1993 or so. I looked at the photo under my microscope - there's no additional information to be gleaned there. This photo was scanned at 9,600 dpi on my scanner too - looks the same as under the microscope. I tried Google AI, but they said the photo was too blurry, etc.

thx

-Wayne

The first two characters are 65.
After that I would guess kph max en

As in 65 kph maximum in descent.

Best

Interesting. The second character looks like a 5 or stylized S, but the first character doesn't look like a 6. It looks more like a C to me or possibly even an E.

Descente with the downward arrow is the logo for the company, I think the logo in question is independent of that.

Was this a university group solar car? Historical pics of the cars from that era may be online.

Possibly ski wear, or cold weather equipment?

That's funny!

Is there any chance that the company that sponsored your entry sponsored other entries in 1993, and can you find better pictures of those other cars and their logos?

Yup, already combed through the other photos. Good suggestion!

Got DESCENTE - no problem. All of the photos that are online have been posted by me - already combed everything. Back then, we had to use film and photos were a buck a piece to develop, so I don't have many...

I kind of gave up, so I made up something that will look like it sort of matches. IGS is "Interstate Gas Supply" and they have / had a solar division - it may have been them, who knows...

I thought that too, but then what would the three words after that be? I couldn't find a match in vintage logos either...

Excellent! Another vote for never throw anything away.

Redacted because I just saw you were one of the MIT members for the vehicle.
