What is wrong with people ????

This happened yesterday in Kentucky . A judge and a sheriff get into an argument in chambers . Sheriff decides the best way to end the argument is to shoot the judge multiple times . Judge dead sheriff will go to prison for life . I just shake my head . The lack of conflict resolution skills is alarming in our country .

Wow, that's crazy!

pavulon 09-20-2024 10:06 AM

There's likely more to this that will come out of the woodwork.

Crowbob 09-20-2024 10:08 AM

First thing that comes to mind is love triangle. Small town, everybody knows everybody, two guys worked together for years without issues…

matthewb0051 09-20-2024 10:21 AM

Ironically, I have to take my belt off everyday to pass through the metal detector at the courthouse. Seems that maybe the deputies should be the ones getting screened.

I did as well...then I looked at their pictures: That Isosceles "love" triangle would not be a thing of beauty...

We’ve done everything but hanging from the closet rods. Never tried a triangle. Can’t even imagine how that would work.

Doesn’t the sheriff have qualified immunity?

masraum 09-20-2024 12:06 PM

I saw a video on YT earlier this week where a young man and woman were having sex, sometimes doing the whole strangulation thing. The woman ended up strangling him. She then continued to have sex with him and eventually dismembered him, removing organs and extremities.

It's a crazy, crazy story, but not really that crazy since they started drinking and smoking weed and eventually moved on to meth and other drugs. So it doesn't really fit into this thread because it's fairly obvious what's wrong with her at least partially.

What do those lyrics have to do with a court room and a single crazy sherrif?

Over three decades after its first release, the hit Rage Against The Machine song ‘Killing In The Name’ is more relevant than ever. Opening the first verse with the lines, “Some of those that work forces are the same that burn crosses”, the material is an anti-establishment protest song against systemic racism and brutality in the US police forces.

the answer to that, you know, and would PARF the thread.

SpyderMike 09-20-2024 01:40 PM

Turns out the Sheriff was taking advantage of ladies...forcing sexual acts to keep them out of jail. Two have come forward so far. The Judge probably found out...

Superman 09-20-2024 01:40 PM

Yes and I think it would be at least the third time in the last week.

I feel glad these days to be an introvert and rarely leaving my property. It's kooky out there. Bullets are flying.

Ironic that the first flush comments on this uniformly blamed the judge - calling him a kiddy fiddler - and now it’s going with deputy dawg done the dirty.

Hell yeah. I know folks that didn't like working from home. I could work from home for the rest of my life. I'm loving living in the country and never having to see folks if i don't want to. And country folks are awesome.

cabmandone 09-20-2024 04:09 PM

"What is wrong with people?"
My brother says "Everyone is crazy, some just hide it better than others" There's a lot of truth in that.

john70t 09-21-2024 05:15 AM

The rumor I herd was the judge/friend was um giving attention to the sheriff's underage daughter.

I have to wonder why someone would want to watch a video like that. No reply is expected. Just sayin

The video title didn't include the gory details. The video didn't include any photos of anything gory. It was basically a video about a "true crime" story. I don't normally get into "true crime" stuff (books, videos, shows, etc...). But I do occasionally find some of those stories fascinating. Human nature and broken human nature can be fascinating.

I do like shows like "Criminal Minds," "Bones," "NCIS," etc....

Many, many people are into true crime and gory horror movies (the Saw series, etc...). I wouldn't think you'd find it that surprising or odd.

The wikipedia page about it.

Hmmm the sheriff and judge had lunch together just hours before the sheriff killed him . Very strange .

What's wrong with people?

Well, a whole bunch of stuff from what I see...

Something I feel is obvious is the effect of population growth.
1960 had the earth's population at 3 Billion, 64 years later, 7.5 B...

We seem to get better and better at getting on each other's nerves and expanding the "limits" of behavior.

The internet has made it crazy quick and easy to spread good, bad and made up stories.
We (me included) don't spend enough time outdoors or talking in person with our neighbors and communities.

My knothole likely looks different than yours.:)

masraum 10-13-2024 03:23 PM

Here's another "what is wrong with people" moment. This woman does what is about the same as loudly ranting and raving about her food in a restaurant and then sending it back to be remade. Apparently, she's not familiar with how that works. And pulling the "I want to see a supervisor" card as well as failing to comply with a request as simple as "can I see some id" wasn't ever going to go anywhere good.

pwd72s 10-13-2024 03:38 PM

^ Why should she have to show ID? Wouldn't that be interfering with her vot, er, driver's rights?

Bill Douglas 10-13-2024 03:45 PM

Cop doesn't understand she may be a sovereign citizen and doesn't have to show ID or follow antiquated laws.

A930Rocket 10-13-2024 07:37 PM

That was painful to watch. I don’t know how she makes it through life every day, being that stupid.

Stupid has a way of catching up , it may take time and some escape but most will fall victim of stupid .

Alan A 10-14-2024 05:29 PM

I LOL’d as soon as I heard I dindu nuffin at the end. It’s bad I know but I couldn’t help myself…

dad911 10-14-2024 05:47 PM

I was hoping she gave them a reason to taze her.

Bill Douglas 10-14-2024 06:08 PM

Good thing Derek Chauvin is locked up. He would have dealt with this situation in a different way.

Cairo94507 01-01-2025 07:10 AM

I hope when that idiot showed up in front of a judge they threw the book at her. What a waste of law enforcement time having to deal with that ignorant "self-entitled" fool. I am so sick and tired of seeing these people pull this crap and then when arrested cry every "ism" out there to shift responsibility for their actions.

flatbutt 01-01-2025 08:09 AM

I could NOT deal with that kind of profound obstinate stupidity.

Por_sha911 01-01-2025 07:24 PM

Its tougher when you are stupid and stubborn.

Me either. I would never have lasted as a police officer.

masraum 01-02-2025 06:43 AM

I don't watch a lot of TV, but I do watch some. On top of that, the missus likes murder mysteries. So we do see a fair amount of "cop-y" shows. When I see the police/detectives interviewing folks that don't seem to give a damn, and are mouthy, I've always thought "Certainly most folks are not that stupid". But with the advent of body cams and the fact that so much body cam footage is posted on YT these days, it's amazing to me how many people actually ARE THAT STUPID.

Everyone, regardless of race, color, religion, creed, IQ, needs to watch the following video.
"Chris Rock - How not to get your aß kicked by the police!"
