SOSS hinges and earth magnets on my concealed access doors. Very strong hinges and they just work.

Sounds like those are the way to go. Thanks everyone.

Yeah, looks like the SOSS stuff is on Amazon, and there are also similar hinges on Amazon

Take a video of you mortising those into the door and jamb with a drill. I wanna watch. :D

I think making and testing the router jigs for these hinges will take more time than literally every other task. It'll be cool when it's finished.

A SOSS hinge can get you a full size opening, if that is a consideration. But I guarantee, they are significantly harder to install than a pivot hinge. A pivot hinge will restrict the opening to the location of the pivot, again if that matters.

If I'm hiding an electrical panel or water shut off behind a flush mount hidden door, a cabinet hinge or SOSS works well. But for anything large enough for a person to access the space, I find a pivot hinge so much easier to install and virtually idiot proof - as tested by me.

By the way... is the door invisible? I mean, I don't care what kind of hinge you put on an invisible door, I'm pretty sure you're still gonna see it. And then, how the hell do you install it? "Honey do ya know where the hell I put the invisible door?".... "Damn it Steve! Ya left it on the couch again"... "Are ya sure?"

LMAO!

It'll be hiding in plain sight.

One more thing. Those tools have Tetanus written all over them! Go get a shot as a preventative then just go at it without any worries. Well, other than bandages. You might want to have a few of those around. And that hammer has black fingernail written all over it!

Get some hinges of the type used on saloon doors. You can push on the door from either direction!

Better yet, use saloon doors! 😂

With a hammer that big, I don't have to sharpen the chisels. GENIUS!

Also it's best to hold the chisel with your fingers down by the tip for precision's sake.
