Absolutely love it, well done. I miss my 80-series daily. How does it drive?

It drives quite well. Previous owners had done a good job keeping up on maintenance/rebuilding things. It is currently inop though for a Holley Sniper EFI conversion. The original carb and assorted bits are long gone and the crappy weber copy was giving me some issues. Some of the custom bits that I needed were back ordered. Should be back driving it in a few weeks.

I have completed several projects on the Landcruiser. The biggest one being the Holley Sniper EFI and Hyperspark conversion. I still have some wires to tidy up and to make a proper heat shield between the exhaust header and throttle body. My truck had been modified quite a bit by previous owners and unfortunately, things like the original air cleaner/intake assembly were long gone. I ended up buying some used bits and having them powdercoated. There are a few companies that make EFI conversion parts. I used some parts from Red Line out of Colorado, but had to make several things due to the dual battery setup and lack of original intake manifold. I have about 60 miles on this setup so far. A big improvement in cold start, power and idle stability. With this setup, the ECU controls the timing due to using their distributor and coil setup.

When I run errands in this thing, I have to add a half hour or so for parking lot conversations. It attracts way more attention than anything else I've ever driven.

I finally got to put in some decent off road miles. It performed very well and I'm quite happy with the EFI and Hyperspark mods. I towed it to our campsite on Priest Lake in Idaho and explored some of the forest service roads over the course of a couple of days. Both days I climbed roughly 2,000 feet. The second day mostly in 4lo on some very rough single lane roads that had recently been cleared of fallen trees. I was close to the Canadian border on one of the trips. I was at the Border Patrol gate on that leg.

I am putting together some gear for longer adventures. We're heading back there in August and I plan to do a bit of dispersed camping on that trip.
