I could destroy my retirement account with old Rudy

It seems like those Porsche motors are fairly inexpensive

Does anyone need an engine or a long term project?

The Junkyard: The Rudi Klein Collection
26 October 2024

https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/rk24/lots/#?SortBy=Default&page=1&pageSize=40

It's a R.M. Sothebys auction, so I don't expect anything to go cheap.

Lots of really, really interesting cars in absolutely terrible condition.

It looks like someone has been stock piling exotic engines in their back 40 for years.

Someone doesn't understand how auctions work. The dollar amounts under the listings are only estimates from the auction house, which can be wildly off when the hammer drops.

Are early 911 fan shrouds really worth $300? I have a couple I'd be glad to part with for that much.

Seems like nearly everything was left unprotected from the elements. I think even someone in the restoration business would be quickly upside down on the cars. The auction house valuations are absurd.

What a wasteland of exotic carcasses and parts.

This must've been spectacular when it was new; it's still gorgeous, even covered in 'barn find' filth.

A few of those cars look like Sonny had just driven them on the causeway.

Boy, I'll say. $50-$75K for this heap is really reaching...even though it once was an actual Ferrari.
This Targa is estimated at only $3-$6K, but for what? Other than getting a VIN, I doubt there's much worth salvaging here.

The auction was livestreamed-its on youtube. Someone spent 8 million for the alloy Gullwing, and over a mil for a 62 356B dual grill cab. Bidder 1000-who was he?
