Moab Trip Update…

1. 2 of the 3 bikes were secured with 2 cable bike locks through the rear wheels and connected to the tie down points in the box.

2. A really good bike cable was run through the front tires of one bike and the rear of the other bike and locked to the front tie down in the box of the truck.

3. Another one of those cables was run through the frames of the bikes and locked to one of the 5th wheel hitch safety chain loops.

4. Another one of those cables was run through the rear wheels of 2 of the bikes and the front of the other bike.

I don’t know if the rats nest of cables deterred anyone but I know that even with a Zip disk on a cordless angle grinder, nobody was getting a bike out of there in under 10 minutes.

The riding was incredible. Moab and southern Utah is a treasure to behold. I had only been off I15 twice before and somehow missed all of this incredible scenery.

This was one of the best family vacations I can recall.

Awesome. It's on my list. My goal is to take a mountain bike and my FJ down there in the next few years.

Glad it was a lot of fun.

I have been there multiple times and have never heard any issues of bikes being stolen.

Awesome .. There is so much terrain to explore in that part of the country you can revisit for years and ride new stuff every time.

.

Just keep it safe..

I can see how easy it would be for that to happen in quite a few places there. My son’s helmet went for a tumble down about 80’. It was only a month or so old and he bought it with his own money.

He will be getting a new one for Christmas.

You just got lucky. Bolt cutters and in 30 seconds they are free.

Either way, looks like youre having a great time! Enjoy! Love it there!

All joking aside - haven’t been to Moab in 20 years - has crime got that bad there?
Last time I went it was a doors unlocked sort of place.

I think Moab still is fine. I was more worried about the hotels in Butte and Cedar City on the way there and the night Salt Lake… that hotel was crappy and in a bad part of town.
