The only tool I ever wanted to buy from Snap-On was a speed wrench.
It was different from most, that it had a joint on the socket end so that you could use it like a breaker bar. It's pretty handy, break the lug nuts loose like you would with a breaker bar, then use it like a speed wrench to remove or reinstall the lug nuts.
Today I use the impact, like everyone else, but I bought it in the 80's when battery impacts weren't a thing.
Of course, I also ended up buying a set of metric nut drivers. I hardly ever use them, but there they are, taking up space in a drawer.
One thing that still bugs me to this day is one of my father's ratchets. I took it to the Snap-On man, looking for a rebuild kit as the retention ball had fallen out of the square part, and sockets wouldn't stay on it. He said he couldn't get a rebuild kit for it, and ended up trading me the old ratchet for a new one for the price of a rebuild kit. But now that eBay exists, it looks like you can still get a rebuild kit for the old 40's and 50's ratchets. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm right I regret giving up that old ratchet. Sentimental value and all.
I've looked up the date code on some of the other Snap-On tools I inherited, and they're all from the 40's and 50's.
