The only tool I ever wanted to buy from Snap-On was a speed wrench.
It was different from most, that it had a joint on the socket end so that you could use it like a breaker bar. It's pretty handy, break the lug nuts loose like you would with a breaker bar, then use it like a speed wrench to remove or reinstall the lug nuts.
Today I use the impact, like everyone else, but I bought it in the 80's when battery impacts weren't a thing.

Of course, I also ended up buying a set of metric nut drivers. I hardly ever use them, but there they are, taking up space in a drawer.

One thing that still bugs me to this day is one of my father's ratchets. I took it to the Snap-On man, looking for a rebuild kit as the retention ball had fallen out of the square part, and sockets wouldn't stay on it. He said he couldn't get a rebuild kit for it, and ended up trading me the old ratchet for a new one for the price of a rebuild kit. But now that eBay exists, it looks like you can still get a rebuild kit for the old 40's and 50's ratchets. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm right I regret giving up that old ratchet. Sentimental value and all.

I've looked up the date code on some of the other Snap-On tools I inherited, and they're all from the 40's and 50's.

I had a co-worker that devoted his whole pay check to the Snap On truck. The tools are really good. So are a zillion other company's tools.
He would just walk into the truck and be gone for some time. I asked him why? He said that investing in Snap-On Tools is a solid investment and he could re-sell the tools and make a huge profit. It was his retirement wager. Good luck with that.

Maybe you could show him this video? Does a mechanic's customer care what brand of tools he uses? No..the customer just wants his car problem fixed well. For his own sake, I hope somebody tells him about a good no load mutual fund.

He's screwed. I have to think that he's going to sell for pennies on the dollar. I hope he's single so there's less impact to his foolishness.

So you're saying we have a chance?

She's married with three kids, so probably not.

I just watched the video (well, part of it). She's lovely. But I have to say, the filters that so many folks use these days bug me. I suspect she's attractive enough that she doesn't need the filter, and with the filter, she looks odd.

Yea, I'm seeing the same thing. Her face sorta has a mannequin look but I wouldn't be complaining. Her husband found a unicorn.

Snap on is nice stuff however we have fun conversations in our shop about the guys that run out there every wednesday when the rape van shows up. I don't have much from the big three tool trucks simply because mechanics don't get paid enough to step on one of those trucks and pay cash for literally anything. $100 is the cost for a single 19mm combination wrench.
